ALMACO JACK (Seriola rivoliana)


A world record size almack jack caught in the Pacific side of Mexico.


The almaco jack in most of the world tropical waters, and sometimes intemperate waters in some areas. The distribution in the eastern Atlantic is not well established and it is absent from the Red Sea and French Polynesia. This predator fish  inhabit the outer reef slopes and offshore banks, where they may form small or medium schools. Almaco jacks are rarely caught in inshore waters.
